Jerome Powell has ‘failed’ as Federal Reserve chair, Sen. Elizabeth Warren says

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., slammed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell in an interview with NBC Information’ “Meet the Press” Sunday, saying he “has failed” in his duties and should not be in his function.

“He has had two jobs. One is to take care of financial coverage. One is to take care of regulation. He has failed at each,” she stated.

“Look, I do not assume he ought to be chairman of the Federal Reserve. I’ve stated it as publicly as I understand how to say it. I’ve stated it to everybody,” stated Warren, who serves on the Senate Banking Committee.

Powell, who was nominated by President Donald Trump in 2017, has confronted criticism over his dealing with of banking laws following the collapse of Silicon Valley Financial institution.
