MOORHEAD — The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce hosted a cybersecurity conference called “The Urgency of Cybersecurity” Thursday, Aug. 19.
An FBI special agent—along with other cyber experts—addressed the dangers for companies of data hacking and cyber breaches.
The speakers emphasized the need for awareness and preparation. Regional and national cybersecurity experts also answered questions from the crowd.
Don Hanson, senior vice president of marsh and Mclennan Agency, said businesses didn’t need to be afraid of threats—but rather be aware of them.
“This is not an ‘if’ but a ‘when,'” said Hanson. “So what are you gonna do if there is an event how are you getting yourself back on your feet?”
